Yooo, Walmart FINALLY did it.

Starting August 24, Walmart is rolling out Tap to Pay.

And yes...

That means Apple Pay AND Google Pay. ?

WALMART TOOK LONG ENOUGH

For years you could walk into damn near anywhere, pull out your phone, tap and keep it moving.

Then you get to Walmart...

Nah.

Open Walmart Pay or pull your card out. ?

That's finally changing.

Starting August 24, select Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations will begin accepting contactless payments.

That includes eligible contactless cards, phones and smartwatches.

Google has officially confirmed Google Pay is part of the rollout, and the new contactless system also supports Apple Pay on iPhone and Apple Watch.

DON'T EXPECT IT AT EVERY WALMART MONDAY

August 24 is when the rollout STARTS.

Walmart says all U.S. Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations are expected to have Tap to Pay by the end of 2026.

Fuel stations are expected to get it by mid-2027.

Walmart Pay isn't going anywhere either.

You'll just finally have a choice.

Apple Pay.

Google Pay.

Contactless card.

Walmart Pay.

Pick one and keep the line moving. ?

THIS WAS LONG OVERDUE

It's a small change that's actually a big convenience.

Forget your wallet?

Got your phone?

You good.

Walmart has officially entered the Tap to Pay era.

Finally. ?
